The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency mentioned it is alarmed in regards to the large number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some substantial amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office dedicated to service the here area on a regular basis. The service position here created for intervention encounters a significant influx of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it difficult to the Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more methods to help the servicing of all clients and enhance usage of Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
